Once in a while I have been asked how to find other Unicode fonts – apart from the Arial Unicode font. Until now I have referenced to this site for inspiration:

http://www.unicode.org/resources/fonts.html

Still this might be a good place to start if you want to buy new Unicode fonts, but actually some Unicode fonts have been closer than I thought…

When installing OS400 V6R1 (and newer) you can also choose to install Option 43 Additional Fonts, which is a free option of 5761SS1. So after installing this option you should be able find these fonts in the IFS inside this directory: /qibm/ProdData/OS400/Fonts/TTFonts.

A description of most of the fonts are found here:

http://www4.infoprintsolutionscompany.com/help/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.ibm.printers.infoprintfonts%2Fcom.ibm.printers.fontsummary%2Fc0pe2mst66.htm

So it means, that it is very likely, that you already have a selection of Unicode fonts ‘hidden’ in the IFS J.

If you want a fixed font you should take a look at the duospaced fonts. They are probably exactly what you need.
