The graphical designer has until now had a limitation in regards to showing soft fonts correctly in the result view. We have however now a test PTF for InterForm400, that makes it possible to see the text in the result view in the right font (as specified via Autodownload for *PCL printers). In order to make the PTF work you need this:
- It is required that the used TTF (True Type Font) is installed on the PC, where the designer is running.
- In autodownload in InterForm400 the TTF must be linked with the used font number in a printer group, which includes the output queue, *ALLPCL (which makes it active for all PCL output).
If you run InterForm400 version 2010M01 or 2010M02 and you would like to test this new feature, then you can download the PTF from here: http://interword.dk/PTFs/APF3912.ZIP
Please notice, that the change in this test PTF is not included in version 2010M03.
Feel free to test this PTF. I am of course interested to hear if it also works fine for you - also if it does not. The change will be included in future versions if the response is good, which I expect. Only up to 16 characters of the TTF name is compared to the TTFs of the PC, so the right soft font might not be selected if the font name is longer.
You install it in this manner:
- Download and unzip the file from the link above.
- Place the unzipped file in the IFS in '/APF3812Home/PTFs'.
- Then select this in InterForm400:
- 12. Service functions
- 50. Apply PTF from the /APF3812Home/PTFs directory
- Type the PTF number 3912 and press <Enter> followed by F10 to confirm the installation.
After installation you need to restart the designer - or select 'File', 'Reload fonts and colors' in the designer.
