Hi Niels
I am trying to close the deal with a potential customer for IceCap. Below is the request from the IT manager;
There is some interest in the hand held devices so if you have any info on suitable hardware then that would be helpful.
They are possibly thinking of order taking via Blackberry’s. We can currently access IceBreak via our company Blackberry’s so we would be interested in IceCap if it can simplify the rolling out of applications to them.
Also for store stock control. As I said when we last met, it is unlikely that our stores will get Wifi connections directly onto our network and therefore any hand held terminal would need to connect to some sort of base station which would be connected by network cable to our network or to a networked PC.
Very Best Regards

Re: Sally with IceCap
Hi Pat;
Actually - all the types of handheld of today are able to connect to IceCap and IceBreak applications, intermec or Symbol/Motorola or what you have. As long as they has a web-browser on board. And if they run HTML5 you have the best solution since they can be offline and even then capture data.
Ex. .Intermec IP30 is running android and will support any IceCap/IceBreak app you make in HTML5.
If you are unsure just let the device open this link: http://html5test.com/ and see how good it supports HTML5
Also. Most modern blackberries are running HTML5 today.
If you have to retrofit old devices then just make the icebreak app ol'School html - this approach also works. We have made solutions in the past for other customers with "older" devices just running plain HTML - this works too …
