This annoyes me A LOT:

I typically use the "go icebreak" command, option 12 (work with...) and then F6 to create a new server instance. If I try to create a server instance with a port that is already assigned, an existing server id or something similar then my whole setup is lost when I press enter.

Would it be possible to have some kind of F9 in here?

I haven't tried the admin webinterface to create a server instance... maybe this has the same problem?

Hello John…

Maybe you should try the ADMIN Web Interface. The Wizard will guide you through what ever needed for creating an IceBreak server.

If you use the 5250 interface you should consider using the ADDICESVR command from a command line rather from the menu option 12. Using a command from a command line offers you to use the F9 technique. Remember to qualify the IceBreak library if IceBreak is not a part of the library list (e.g. icebreak/addicesvr).

I've just tried it and it ends up with the following error if I try to create a new instance with an existing name and port:

CPF9999 Funktionskontrol. ICE1250 overvåges ikke af SVC181 ved udtryk 0000010600, instruktion X'0000'.

I think this error could be more user-friendly  It doesn't even tell me what part of my settings is wrong!!!

I know... it's just that I like to go through the go icebreak menu... but I guess I'll have to live with it.

Are you still using BLD 81?

In BLD100 I got the following:

icebreak/ADDICESVR SVRID(TESTSERV) TEXT('Test Server') SVRPORT(31903)
Server port 31903 already exists
